Initially stemmed from a curiosity about self-care perceptions and the need to remember the parts that aren't seen yet still felt, Take Care: The Radical Embodiment of Self-Preservation is a call for care to be explored in all its forms. It acknowledges the interdependence of our well-being and recognizes that our care practices have the ability to create revolutionary change in ourselves and the environments we consume so that we can collectively move towards a better quality of life that reflects safety, intuition, and love.

Gillett's work centers on identity and wellness, bringing forth a divine introspect to her design aesthetic.

DIVINE ENTHUSIAST

Detroit Native and soulful singer Jewell Bell sets a graceful tone as the first Divine Enthusiast feature. Jewell has been playing piano since she was 12 years old and has created several singles in her earlier music career. After taking a 3-year hiatus, Jewell re-introduces herself with her single, "Nappy," a bold and powerful reminder to all black women to take pride in the beauty that is us.
