BLACK HISTORY MONTH

What Is Your Black History?

Every year we acknowledge the prominent leaders in black history, such as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Angela Davis, and Sojourner Truth—the list proudly goes on. Yet, we tend to overlook the exploration of our own lineage. It is crucial to recognize the rich history that black families possess, which sometimes remains hidden, waiting to be uncovered. The goal of “What Is Your Black History?” was to emphasize that the weight of celebrating Black History doesn’t have to be measured by accolades. Even the most mundane tasks within a family dynamic are worthy of amplifying and can have an influential impact all on their own, shaping how we show up and navigate the world.
